- I've gotten Amitcp-4.0 demo to run on my A1200 030/50 in the past.
- Then I saw something on Aminet called "slirp" that said it supported ppp..
- so I got the ppp evaluation version, and reconfigured AmiTCP to run with
- ppp. Didn't work. And Slirp was taking too much space. So I deleted it. but
- now, Amitcp doesn't work with tia anymore! I dunno what I am doing wrong.. I
- know I've gotten it to work.. I think (I can't really remember) that I just
- chose TIA setup, and then for host name I put alpha1 (my UNIX host) and I
- fill out all that crap correctly, but the thing just refuses to work now. I
- type "startnet" and everything seems to be working fine, but then when I go,
- say, "ping alpha1", I look at the modem, and the "send data" light goes on
- but no "receive" light. So I am assuming AmiTCP is sending weird packets
- that TIA isn't liking.
-
- But what am I doing differently, then?
-
-
- Oh I also ran snoopdos and then did a startnet, and a few things failed:
-
- I don't have db/nologin and something else in db (neither were included in
- the archive)
-
- I don't have bsdsocket.library, and that isn't in the distribution archive,
- either. Where would I get that?
-
-
- Has anyone else had any problems like this?
